Brad and Melonie Beaver of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Madison Alexander “Alex” Beaver, to Kate Elizabeth “Katie” Peterson, both of Houston, Texas.
Katie is the daughter of Jean Peterson of Gainesville, Ga., and Vernon Peterson of Sunrise, Fla. A graduate of Union County High School in Blairsville, Ga., she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude. She is a Senior Casualty Underwriter with Liberty Mutual National Insurance Company.
Alex is the grandson of Barbara and the late Harold Rufty of Salisbury and Bobby and Becky Beaver of Rockwell. A graduate of Salisbury High School, he graduated from the University of N.C. in Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Political Science. Also employed by Liberty Mutual, Alex is an Oil and Gas Underwriting Consultant.
An engagement party was given to honor the couple on June 20 at the home of the groom’s grandmother, Barbara Rufty. Also hosting were Cathy Rufty, Bonnie Emerson, Barbara Parker and mother of the groom Melonie Beaver.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 3 at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville.
