This is a copy of a July 1947 photograph that belonged to the late Marcelle Williams. It shows a flag-raising ceremony at Faith Elementary School in connection with the second Faith Fourth of July celebration. Worth Rogers is the man visible and pulling up the flag in front. The person obscured by the flag is not known. The men in uniform, left to right, are Welker Fraley, Bill Jones, Marcelle Williams, Bryce Ludwig, John Peeler and Lawson McCombs. Faith Legion women’s auxiliary members are, from left, Mary McCombs, Wilette Yates, Mrs. C.E. Brown, Lucille Brown, Lwanda Williams and not identified. The 69th Faith Fourth of July celebration will start with music at Faith Baptist Church this coming Sunday afternoon.
