No one injured in duplex fire

Salisbury Fire Department responded to a fire at a duplex located at 401 Carolina Avenue Sunday afternoon.
No injuries were reported during the incident, but one unit received “significant” damage while the other was limited to smoke damage, according to Salisbury Fire Chief Tim Hurlocker.
The call came in around 2 p.m. and it took fire crews approximately 20 minutes to get the flames under control. The American Red Cross is assisting both families.
All Salisbury fire stations, Granite Quarry Fire Department and Faith Fire Department, as well as Rowan Rescue and Rowan EMS also responded to the call, Hurlocker said.
