In July, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office CID began investigating a case involving the solicitation of a 12-year-old child, by use of a social media website.

As a result of this investigation, 30-year-old Mathew Ferrell Church, of 910 N. Main St., was arrested for felony solicit a child by computer and was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
