A Salisbury man hid marijuana in his mouth Sunday when Rowan County sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve a warrant on him for charges brought against him in November 2013.
Deputies arrested Mario Anthony Fernandors, 27, of the 100 block of Crawford Street in Salisbury for an incident two years ago where he allegedly fled and eluded arrest with a motor vehicle while driving with a revoked license. He was also cited for leaving the scene of a hit and run with property damage, as well as misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana.
The report said that when deputies went to arrest him, he hid marijuana in his mouth and lied to the officer, giving him a false name and address, leading to charges of misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
Fernandors’ bond was set at $15,000.
