Kannapolis Police charge two in shooting death

KANNAPOLIS — Two Kannapolis men have been charged with first degree murder in the death of a Charlotte man who was found with gunshot wounds in a car not far from Cabarrus Arms Apartments.
The victim of the Monday night shooting has been identified as Solomon Gebrezgi, 24, of Wylam Dilly Court in Charlotte.
The suspects have been identified as Chay Johnson, 25, of South Main Street, Kannapolis, and Oscar Leonard Jarmon, 20, of South Little Texas Road.
They are charged with first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
At 6:10 p.m. Monday, the Kannapolis Police got a call about a shooting at 200 Cabarrus Arms Apartments off Richard Avenue. When officers arrived, they found out the victim had been taken from the scene.
A short time later, they found the vehicle he was in on South Main Street near Briarcliff Drive.
Gebrezgi was inside with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast for treatment, but later died.
The felony investigation unit is continuing the investigation.
