Phillip Anthony Goodman, 32, was arrested in the 300 block of Stone Road on Saturday for assault by strangulation and misdemeanor child abuse.

Goodman bruised the neck and upper clavicle area of his 6-year-old by strangling him, the police report says. According to the arresting officer, Goodman picked the child up by the neck and threw him to the floor, stating, “I will kill you.”

His bond was set at $100,000.

• Monique Nicole Jefferson, 34, was charged with simple assault and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle on Sunday. She hit another person several times with a closed fist and failed to pull over for police when they were trying to perform a traffic stop.
• Amber Michelle Beaver, 17, was arrested on Saturday for a false report of mass violence. She posted on Facebook that the “school finna be lit,” with pictures of four guns. She then posted that she thought it was funny and that all of her friends “were strapped.”
• Christie Lynn Sloop, 27, was arrested on Friday for being intoxicated in a public place and being disruptive by cursing at others.
