China Grove trick-or-treaters may want to turn their attention to downtown on Friday.

A full slate of events is scheduled as part of the town’s Spooktacular Halloween event. There’s candy, dance performances, hayrides and monsters at the China Grove Roller Mill.

Businesses on Main Street will hand out candy from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the event. At the China Grove Roller Mill, Hayrides and photos with monsters from Reapers Realm Haunted House will be from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Center Stage Dance Studio will also perform in Hannah Park.

Downtown local businesses will also be open for a portion of the event, said Town of China Grove Events Coordinator Patti Price.

“We just wanted to bring the community together and put together some fun activities for the kids,” Price said. “In the past, trick or treating has been popular in downtown and we wanted to add some other events to that.”
