Two charged in breaking and entering spree

Masiah Claybrook, 21, and Allan Jerome Gooden, 58, were charged in connection with several break-ins in western Rowan County.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office began investigating reports of break-ins at several houses in the western part of the county, and obtained a search warrant for a residence at 5440 U.S. Highway 601. There, they discovered firearms and electronics that had been reported stolen, along with other property that they suspect was illegally obtained, according to a report.

Gooden and Claybrook live at the residence.

Gooden, a convicted felon, was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of stolen firearms and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was placed in the Rowan County jail under a $15,000 secured bond.

Gooden was previously charged in Rowan County with receiving stolen goods, indecent liberties with a child, possession with intent to sell and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Claybrook was charged with possession of stolen property, breaking and entering and larceny and larceny of a firearm. Claybrook has been placed in the Rowan County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. Claybrook has no previous criminal record.
