A Salisbury teen is being held without bond, charged with attempted murder and other crimes.
Brandon Ulysses Flores was arrested on Nov. 14 following an incident in which his girlfriend was injured with a knife. Flores is a senior at Carson High School and a standout soccer player.
According to reports from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, authorities got a call about 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 to go to an abandoned home in the 300 block of East Ritchie Road where an assault on a female had occurred.
Finding no one there, deputies went to the Novant Rowan Medical Center emergency room, where they met the victim and interviewed her. She told deputies that her boyfriend picked her up around noon and they had plans to eat lunch. While on the way, she said, Flores told the victim that he had to look for something his brother left at a house.
They drove to the East Ritchie Road abandoned house, and Flores went inside the home. The victim told deputies that she went inside after waiting for an extended period.
The report says Flores attacked the woman with a knife when she went in the house, then held her there for some time before she got him to take her to the hospital.
Deputies found Flores at his home in the 1000 block of Arrowhead Circle. He was taken to the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office and charged with one count of attempted murder. He was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond.
After further investigation, Flores was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and false imprisonment. He is now being held with no bond.
The victim was treated for a serious laceration to her left hand and was released.
