In Rowan County Sherriff’s Office reports:

• John Wilbourne Harmon, 29, was charged on Saturday with assault on a government official at the Rowan County Detention Center. He punched the deputy in the face while the deputy was performing detention duties. Harmon also had a prior charge of assault on a government official, as well as two assault charges on inmates last week. His secured bond was set for $2,000.
• Nicole M. Peterson, 30, was charged on Saturday with simple possession of marijuana.
