Blotter: Red and blue lights for red and blue violations

A Madison County man was charged with two traffic violations, driving while impaired, possession and carrying a concealed weapon on Saturday.
Christopher Michael Reece, 20, failed to stop for a red light while at the Jake Alexander Boulevard and Old Concord Road intersection. He also did not yield to other vehicles when those vehicles had the right of way because of a green light.
When stopped, the police officer found Reece in possession of blue metallic knuckles, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Reece was placed under a $5,000 secured bond. He could be released on bond only when a sober and responsible adult assumed custody or on his own after 11 a.m. on Sunday.
In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:
- John Calvin Sifford, 28, was charged with simple assault on Saturday for striking a man about his face.
- Larry Alvin Cranfield, 45, was charged with felon larceny on Saturday. He stole a laptop, medication, three rings, two necklaces, steak knives and a machete from a woman on the 100 block of Misty Lane in Rockwell. The value of the property stolen was $1,385.
- Miranda Gail Wagoner, 22, was charged with misdemeanor larceny on Friday for stealing a laptop and a flat screen televiasion from a Buncombe County man.
- Candy Glinabah Marie Yazzie, 32, was charged with misdemeanor child abuse on Sunday for leaving children at home alone for several hours.
