Bridge Club Christmas

The catering was done by the school’s culinary department and it was a fine meal by everyone’s agreement. We included spouses of our players so they could meet the folks their loved ones were spending so much time with during the week. It was a wonderful evening which by unanimous vote will happen again next year.  I send a big thank you to every one of you for a successful party and a wonderful year.

We have three games on which to report since we missed last weeks’ article. Our Nov. 24 Women’s Club winners were: First, Fern Albracht and Betty Bills; second, Becky Creekmore and Marie Pugh; third, Georgia Sorensen and Wade Lowder; fourth, Dave Goff and Dick Brisbin.

Dec. 4 at Evergreen, even though tired from our night out, we had a full holiday atmospheric house.

N/S winners: First, Ron and Shirley Jeffers; second, Pat Featerston and Dick Brisbin; third, Carol Bachl and Judy Gealy.

E/W: First, Stella Shadroui and Maggie Canup; second, Dennis Eccleston and Loyd Hill; third, Georgia Sorensen and Wade Lowder.

Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles had the best N/S score bidding and making 4SN, while the John McLaughlins had the best E/W score bidding and making 5DW.

Just about the whole field at the Dec. 8 Women’s Club game won points. The scores were close.

Winners were: First, Maggie Canup and Toni Iossi; second, Marie Pugh and Loyd Hill; third, Georgia Sorensen and Wade Lowder; tied for fourth, fifth, and sixth: Jayne Shive and Sonjia McHone with Ron and Shirley Jeffers with Pat Macon and Judy Gealy.
