Crime blotter: Statesville man causes three wrecks within minutes, keeps driving

Salisbury Police charged a Statesville man after he caused four vehicle accidents all within the same day and failed to stop to report them.
James Darrell Hodge, 55, of the 100 block of Deer Haven Drive, was charged with three counts hit and run property damage, one count hit and run injury, four counts failure to report an accident.
He was driving his pickup near Jake Alexander Boulevard and Mooresville Road around 5:30 p.m. when he struck three vehicles. Police received several calls about the driver and an officer was able to pull in behind Hodge.
According to a report, Hodge was detained after an officer conducted a traffic stop. It’s not clear if Hodge was impaired. Hodge has a number of convictions including felony drug possession, assault on a female, common law robbery, the oldest of which stems from the mid-1990s.

• A man reported Tuesday he was the victim of a burglary in the 700 block of Maple Avenue.
• A woman reported Tuesday she was the victim of an assault in the 1800 block of West Innes St.

• A man reported Monday someone filed an unemployment claim using the victim’s social security number in the 2400 block of Deal Road, Mooresville.
• A woman reported Monday a burglary in the 100 block of Overbrook Road.
• Nicholson Stone Masonry Inc. reported Monday they were the victim of credit card fraud in the 800 block of Cannon Street.
• A man reported Monday someone stole his handgun from his house in the 100bblock of Lyerly Drive.
• A man reported Monday someone took items from his vehicle in the 100 block of JR Lane, Kannapolis.
• A man reported Monday he was victim of vandalism in the 100 block of Willow Leaf Court, Kannapolis.
• Lakeisha Quanglena Butts, 29, was charged Monday with misdemeanor breaking and entering in the 200 block of Old Rockwell Road.
• Clyde Anderson Bolen, 33, was charged Monday with felony obtaining property by false pretenses in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue.
