BAYADA Home Health Care’s Salisbury office recently welcomed Michael Johnson, their national practice leader, to their local office.

Johnson held a town hall-style meeting with all office and field staff Dec. 7 to get to know staff, discuss current health care trends, gather feedback and recognize the Salisbury office for their recent successes.

Johnson shared his background with the staff. He also discussed the Triple Aim in Healthcare – a focus on improving patient outcomes and satisfaction, as well as reducing costs.

During an open feedback session, Johnson asked the staff two specific questions. First, he asked, “What is keeping you up at night?” Then, he asked, “What gets you out of bed and excited to go to work?”

The main concern shared by the staff was a need to streamline documentation and make it easier to focus on the client. On the other hand, the staff all shared their enthusiasm for their work with their patients. They also bragged about how well the team works together and gets along.

Johnson quickly noted that the teamwork is evident in the results. The team has doubled in size in just the last year. The Salisbury office was recently recognized as a 4 Star agency in the new CMS rating system — the highest rating for providers. Johnson also recognized Nan Martin, OT, as a BAYADA National Hero, one of only four therapists to earn this title this year.
