On Dec. 10, at about 8 p.m., a white male dressed in a hooded shirt with his face covered, and armed with a shotgun, robbed the clerk at Village Grocery.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the store at 4450 Highway 601, Salisbury. The suspect left on foot. The store’s video surveillance system captured the suspect entering and leaving the store.

Witnesses have described a small black or dark-colored pickup at Village Grocery at the time of the robbery.  This vehicle would resemble a small Chevrolet S-10 or a Ford Ranger or a Mazda-style small truck. The vehicle was reported to be an older model more squared than rounded in shape.

This witness described the suspect as wearing a welder’s hat and coat, which can be seen in the security video. The suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 40s, with salt and pepper colored ear length hair and facial stubble.

Anyone with information about this crime or suspect is asked to contact Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687, Det. Travis Allen 704-216-8715 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
