Prep hoops
Davie’s girls got 24 points from Madison Zaferatos and rolled 75-26 against Parkland in CPC action on Thursday.

Davie’s boys rallied from an 18-point third-quarter deficit to beat Parkland 76-67.
Jayvee hoops
Carson’s girls stayed unbeaten with a 34-31 win against West Rowan on Thursday.
Tayler Harwood scored 16 for the Cougars (16-0) and Katie Jewell had eight.
Chantal Robinson and Niaja Wilson scored 10 each for West. Hannah Pratt had seven points.
Defensive standouts for Carson were Sarah Christie, Shaleah Jolly and Montana Gurganious.
Sacred Heart hoops
Sacred Heart’s jayvee girls won 22-7 against North Hills.
Gianna Patella scored eight points for the Dolphins. Hannah Carr and Faye Carol Shellhorn had five points each.

Leading the Dolphins were John Sentilles with eight points and Deuce Walker with seven.
Finley Church and Miles Lester added five each.
7th-grade hoops
Erwin’s boys won 41-22 against West Rowan.
David Jordan and Colby Patterson scored eight points each for the Eagles.
Isaac Hinceman and Lando Shuping scored six apiece.
Gavin Sprinkle had nine rebounds.
The Eagles will play North Rowan on Monday at Erwin.

North led 28-3 at halftime. West played better in the second half.
Austin Mauldin led the Bulldogs with eight points.
Ashton Matthews and Mauldin were the leading rebounders.
College baseball
Catawba opens the season tonight in Florida against Barry.

Keshun Sherrill (West Rowan) scored 11 points as Augusta beat UNC Pemboke 66-62 on Wednesday.

The Kannapolis Intimidators are preparing for the 22nd season of baseball in Kannapolis.
