Salisbury Police officials say they are looking for a Charlotte man suspected of involvement in a local jewelry store robbery nearly a month ago.
Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Rudy Sylvester Caldwell, 61, of the 5500 block of Keyway Boulevard, is being sought for felony larceny. The incident occurred at K-Dee’s Jewelers, 112 E. Innes St., on Jan. 12, where he’s accused of taking several thousand dollars worth of jewelry.
Shortly after the incident occurred, police said a well-dressed African-American couple went into the store, spoke briefly with the saleswoman, and then the man was seen on a surveillance camera taking a key to open a cabinet.
The two distracted the employee and were able to get away with rings, necklaces, watches and other items.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the other suspect is asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 704-797-4253 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
