Community Job Fair set March 1

CONCORD — More than 60 employers are participating in a March 1 job fair for people from Rowan and Cabarrus counties.

The Centralina Workforce Development Board, the NCWorks Career Center-Cabarrus and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will host the collaborative Community Job Fair for job seekers, veterans and military families.

The event will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m.at New Life Baptist Church, 1281 Biscayne Drive.

The event will kick off with an open employer panel discussion.  The panel discussion has been added to help candidates learn the culture of the companies and the qualities they are looking for in a candidate.

Employers participating in the panel discussion are Novant Health, Gordon Foods, and Johnson Concrete. The employer panel discussion will begin at 9 a.m. and last an hour.

Doors will open early for military families, veterans and spouses at 9 a.m.

Some of the major companies scheduled to be in attendance are Novant Health, City of Concord, Bayada Home Health Care, City of Kannapolis, Corning Inc., Gordon Foods, Henkel, NCDPS Division of Adult Correction, Rowan-Salisbury Schools and Wells Fargo.

Employers will have access to candidates in a one-stop environment; they also can meet non-traditional candidates.
