Old friends
It was with sadness that we said goodbye to our friend and mentor Gloria Bryant. She was a constant in our Salisbury bridge group for 40 years, many more than most of us have been in it.
She was always cheerful, helpful to anyone who needed guidance with their play or anything in life. For me she was supportive in all. She went with me for the past 10 years to shop for the Dogwood tournament. What fun we had. Laughter was our companion the whole day. She was sure that the Tuesday game would revive and wouldn’t let me give up on it. She was right. She also said that our Friday game would flourish and again she was correct. We will miss her but have many memories of her to keep us smiling.
Our Evergreen game on Friday, Feb. 19 was well attended. Winning N/S: First, Ron and Shirley Jeffers; second, Anna and Dave Goff; third, BettyBonner Steele and Patsy Reynolds;
E/W First, Patty King and Becky Creekmore; second, Dick Brisbin and Pat Featherston; third, Pat Macon and Judy Gealy.
