Next Tuesday, see that no senior goes hungry. Meals on Wheels will host its yearly fundraiser Tuesday, March 8.

Barbecue plates provided by College Barbecue will be available for $8 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church at 308 W. Fisher St. All proceeds go to benefit the Meals on Wheels program.

Meals on Wheels of Rowan is a nonprofit United Way agency that delivers meals to the homebound residents of Rowan County. Volunteers deliver lunchtime meals to Meals on Wheels clients in their area. The delivery service functions as a wellness check and gives clients a friendly visit and a hot meal to look forward to. Many clients receive meals free of charge due to low income. Free meals are made possible by individual and corporate contributions.

Meal plates include barbecue, baked beans, slaw, dessert and a roll, and are available for dine in or take out. Delivery is available for orders of five meals or more. Delivery orders must be placed by 2 p.m. Monday.
