After Saturday, the weather will calm down and settle into a spring-like pattern, even though spring isn’t until March 21.

Today will be cloudy, then gradually clear with a high of 53 and just a slight breeze from the north at 3-8 mph. Tonight will be clear and cold, with a low of 31.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 56 and winds from the southwest at 5-9 mph in the afternoon. Saturday night brings in a 30 percent chance of showers, with a low of 36.

Sunday will be sunny and 56 again, with north wind at 6-9 mph. The low will be 33.

Monday will be warmer, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 61. The low will be 41.

It will be even warmer Tuesday, with a high of 69 under mostly sunny skies, and a low of 49.

Wednesday, we could reach 70 degrees, with partly sunny skies. The low will be warmer than Friday’s high, 54 degrees.

Thursday will be partly sunny and 71.

It might be time to move the winter clothes to the back of the closet — but not too far. This is North Carolina, after all.
