Love Thy Neighbor event lived up to name
We are so blessed! The Love Thy Neighbor benefit for Jimmy was truly nothing less than amazing.
To all who donated food for breakfast, prepared and served it, thank you. To all who ran the 5K, 10K and the kids’ run (in the rain), thank you. To all who donated items and purchased items for the silent auction, thank you. To all who set up, coordinated events and cleaned up, thank you. To all who contributed, thank you. To all who came, thank you.
Your show of love and support truly is humbling. There are no words sufficient to express our gratitude. Your spirit of Christian love is beyond measure! We love and appreciate each of you. God be with you and bless you.

VA reciprocates well
The VA has saved my father’s life twice and my life twice.
Last Saturday, I woke up to only 5 percent vision in my right eye. I went to the emergency room and at 9 a.m. Dr. Altemare opened the ophthalmology clinic on the second floor of Building 3 and performed laser eye surgery on me. She went way above and beyond, just like many of the vets she provides care for.
The way I see it, the VA staff is serving us much like the way we served for them. To quote the great coach John Wooden, “ Your reputation is what you are perceived to be. Your character is what you really are.”
Dr. Altemare has character. The VA staff has character. Next time they do something that you appreciate, let them know so. I am thankful and appreciate everything that they have done for me.
