SALISBURY — Salisbury Police are investigating as a homicide the death of a man found dead inside an Alexander Place apartment this morning.

Late Sunday afternoon, authorities identified the victim as Joseph David Walker, 37, of 632 Hamilton Drive.

At 6:44 a.m. Sunday, the Salisbury Fire Department was called to Walker’s address at Alexander Place in relation to smoke in an apartment.

In its investigation of the smoke, firefighters discovered Walker’s body inside the residence.

Fire officials called in police, and a Police Department press release said the death will be investigated with the assistance of the SBI.
