The Salisbury VA Medical Center will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event for the Charlotte VA Health Care Center at 3506 West Tyvola Road on Friday, April 8, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Tours will be available to the public following the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new VA outpatient clinic, located at the intersection of Cascade Pointe Boulevard and West Tyvola Road, will offer specialty care services not currently available at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Northern Charlotte, with even greater capacity for expansion in the future.
The Charlotte HCC is designed to serve up to 35,000 veteran patients a year, with 295,000 net usable square feet of space, and more than 1,900 parking spaces.
Salisbury VA Medical Center Director Kaye Green says she’s proud of the strides Salisbury VA is making to provide the best health care and access for local veterans.
“Increasing access to quality medical care through the Salisbury VA Health Care System has been one of our highest priorities over the past three years, and the opening of the Charlotte Health Care Center is a major milestone in that effort,” she said.
“We are dedicated to providing the best care anywhere. The Charlotte Health Care Center will no doubt help us deliver on that promise through state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated, caring staff in a convenient location for our veterans. Our nation’s veterans deserve nothing less.”
