A Statesville man has been charged with sharing child pornography and is being held under $75,000 bond.

John Karl White, 50, of Shumaker Drive in Statesville, faces 14 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI searched White’s home on Tuesday after receiving information that someone at the address was sharing child pornography images of young children with persons in other states. Iredell detectives and FBI agents seized several items for examination.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

White is being held under bond in the Iredell County Detention Center pending a court appearance.
