A Salisbury man is facing drug and child abuse charges after investigators found marijuana inside a child’s closet at his Villa Woods Drive home.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at the home, in the 500 block of Villa Woods Drive, where they arrested and charged Travis Wayne Coley, 27, with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor child abuse.
The incident occurred Wednesday where 103 grams of marijuana, a .25 caliber handgun, assorted drug paraphernalia and $1,247 in cash was found. An ounce of marijuana was found in the jacket pocket of a 6-year-old child’s bedroom closet.
Coley has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
