ROCKWELL — Jesse’s Ride for PTSD will be held this coming Saturday at Organ Lutheran Church.
Proceeds go to Honor One, which provides help for military veterans, firefighters and police officers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Donations also are accepted online at the Gofundme site named “Jesse’s Ride for PTSD.’
The event is named for Jesse Ray Ours, an Army veteran of Iraq who suffered from PTSD and committed suicide April 22, 2013. He was a son of Organ’s pastor, the Rev. Carlin Ours.
Organ Church is located at 1515 Organ Church Road.
Registration for both the ride and the Shive Shuffle Run begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. The day also includes a ruck run, martial arts demonstrations, a kids’ bouncy house, cornhole and horseshoe tournaments, door prizes, auctions, firetrucks, a car show, burgers, hot dogs and barbecue.
To ride or run costs $20. Tickets for door prizes are $5. The runs will offer men’s, women’s and children’s divisions. Contact 704-775-9823 or check out the Facebook page “Jesse’s Ride for PTSD” for more information.
