KANNAPOLIS — Authorities have identified the victim in a homicide investigation begun Tuesday as 79-year-old Arthur Lee “Buddy” Davis.

Officers were called to 2000 Chris Ann Lane at about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday for a death investigation. They found Davis there.

Information about the cause of death is not being released, authorities said in a news release today.

“This is a very active homicide investigation therefore no further information that may jeopardize the case will be disclosed at this time,” officials said in the news release.

Investigators ask anyone with information about this crime to call the Kannapolis Police Department at 704-920-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463. A reward is available for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects in this case.
