Farmers Day starts Friday with Hanna Park concert

CHINA GROVE — The annual Farmers Day festival kicks off Friday and continues until Saturday night.
This year’s event will include a concert on Friday in Hanna Park. On Saturday, vendors, performers and thousands of people will fill downtown China Grove.
The Friday concert will include Emily Minor, a North Carolina native who competed on American Idol. Minor will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Hanna Park. Downtown businesses are scheduled to be open at the time but vendors are not.
Saturday’s festivities start at 9 a.m. with an opening ceremony on the main stage. Bands and other groups will perform throughout the day. Street dancing starts at 7 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 10 p.m.
The main stage will be located across from The Family House. The main stage schedule is as follows:
• Opening ceremony from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
• Efird Family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Dimension Dance Arts from 10:30 a.m. to 11: a.m.
• Idle Time Band from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Matt Stratford Band from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Gump Fiction from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Pushh from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Y Service Club Drawing from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
• Summer Daze and street dance from 7 pm. to 10 pm.
• Fireworks at 10 p.m.
The Hanna Park schedule is as follows:
• First Baptist Praise Band from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
• Little Mr. and Miss Farmers Day Contest and Teen Queens, Miss Rowan County Ashley Sacks and Miss Rowan County’s Outstanding Teen Briley LaFollete from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
• 9Day Trip from 11 a.m. to noon
• Southern Style Cloggers from noon to 12:30 p.m.
• Back Creek Bluegrass Band from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
• Patrick Rock from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Zach Lundlam Band from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
