Police looking for armed men who robbed KFC employees

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police are looking for two men who walked into the Mooresville Road KFC restaurant late Thursday night and robbed it while holding employees at gunpoint. The men covered their faces and took money from the cash register.
The suspects are described as two black men, one of whom wore jogging pants and an American flag bandana covering his face. The other had on a white tank shirt, camouflage pants and a red bandana covering his face. Employees recalled seeing a small silver handgun.
One man took an employee to the safe and the other went through the cash register, which he took with him. The men took the employees’ cell phones. The mother of one of the victims activated a find my phone app and located the phone as well as the cash register and some money in a nearby bush.
Three employees’ phones were found in the bush. Police say the business recovered about half of the stolen money.
The robbery took place around 10:45 p.m. and no one was physically harmed.
