CHINA GROVE — In connection to Saturday’s Farmers Day, the China Grove Rotary Club raised roughly $1,250 through its Ping-Pong Ball Drop, which was conducted at the Little League Field.
Pre-numbered, pre-sold Ping-Pong balls were dropped onto a target, and the balls closest to the bullseye were cash winners.
Jim Morton reports that 1,015 balls were sold for the event. The profit will go toward the Harold Lentz Scholarship Fund.
Susan Smith of the Afton Rotary Club won both the first and second prizes, and Amy Cozart captured third place in the drop. First place was worth $200; second, $100; and third, $50.
