RCCC hosts technology experience

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College invites those interested in technology courses and careers to its Technology Experience Day at the college’s Cabarrus Business and Technology Center campus in Concord.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9.a.m to noon, the college will welcome the community to hands-on, interactive courses in air conditioning, ventilating, heating and refrigeration, information technology, electronics engineering technology, electrical systems technology and construction management technology.

“This is a great opportunity for community members to learn about quality educational opportunities,” said Angelo Markantonakis, associate vice president of academic programs at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. “These programs offer students the advantage of small class sizes that provide more individualized interactions, as well as lucrative career opportunities.”

Participants will have the opportunity to tour a lab and work with sheet metal, participate in an android boot camp and create a personalized android app, experience a computer software circuit simulator, replace a light switch and receptacle, create a model using 3D modeling software and explore career opportunities related to these programs.
