Rowan Little League girls win Southeast Regional, will return to World Series in Oregon

The Rowan Little League softball 12U team, which won the world championship in 2015, will be returning to Portland, Ore., to defend its title after winning the Southeast Regional championship this morning in Warner-Robins, Ga.
The Rowan team, representing North Carolina, won 6-2 over the team from Virginia to advance to the World Series. Taylor Walton threw the complete game victory.
According to the Post’s Mike London, Virginia scored twice in the first but was held to just one hit the rest of the way. The Post will have a report on the game and what’s next for the team in Tuesday’s edition.
The World Series will be held from Aug. 8-17.
