N.C. Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews must close the bridge carrying Bringle Ferry Road across the Yadkin River, between River Road and Lick Creek Church Road west of Denton as crews repair deteriorating deck and joints.
“Maintenance and repairs are an important part of the department’s overall bridge program,” said Division Nine Bridge Maintenance Engineer Chuck White.
“It is the department’s goal to complete this work well before school opens,” said Division Nine County Maintenance Engineer Kevin Neal.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and the road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. the following day.
Motorists traveling through the area will use Richfield Road, Stokes Ferry Road, N.C. 49 and N.C. 8, as the 24-mile detour.
