Rowan sex offender on most wanted list arrested in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A Rowan County man was arrested in Charlotte Thursday on felony charges of failing to notify of an address change by a registered sex offender.
Tony Ray Wingler, 37, was on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office most wanted list since March for this charge. He is currently in the Mecklenburg County jail.
He was convicted in 2007 of failing to notify of an address change in Gaston County in both 2006 and 2007. He’s also been convicted of attempted failure to register as a sex offender, multiple counts of indecent liberties with a child, felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries and other misdemeanor offenses.
