SALISBURY — Police issued a citation for a Salisbury man clocked going 91 mph in a 45 mph zone and, when searching his car, found marijuana inside.
Victor Ariel Camacho, 19, was cited for careless and reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a police report, an officer spotted the silver Lexus speeding Monday around 9 a.m. near the Town Court mobile home park on Mooresville Road. The officer pulled the driver, Camacho, over at Carmel Baptist Church.
When he rolled down the window, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Camacho told the officer he’d smoked marijuana earlier, but denied that he had any in the car.
The officer searched him and found a cigar package that contained a small amount of marijuana inside.
Camacho told the officer that’s all he had, but the officer found a small jar in the center console with some marijuana inside. The officer also found digital scales. The total amount of marijuana was 12 grams, a report said.
