He was issued a $2,500 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.

An alarm sounded at 6:42 a.m., and officers arrived at the store at 375 Faith Road, shortly after. A man was spotted hiding behind a column at the front entrance. He then took off running toward the Tinseltown movie theater.

He was found in the woods near Tilley-Harley Davidson on Bendix Drive. Police said he used a concrete block found under a gutter on the building to break open the store’s front window.

Officials said Jones was not in possession of any merchandise. He did have 3 grams of marijuana in his left pants pocket. He was taken to the hospital after complaining of knee pain. Hospital staff said he had a knee sprain. He was discharged.
