SALISBURY — A fourth person was charged with involvement in the attempted robbery at Village Inn pizza. Police say the man was the suspect who pistol whipped an employee and fired a shot into the air.
Salisbury Police charged Jawaan Rahine Williams, 31, of the 100 block of Clancy Street, Apartment B, with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury and felony discharging a firearm into an occupied property.
He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
Last week, Tyree Dashon Stiller, 22, turned himself in and was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Also arrested last week was Shybious Montreal Duncan, 22, of Charlotte, at a Clancy Street apartment. Officials said Brittany Dannyelle Dalton, 23, turned herself in, as well. Dalton has since been released from the county jail, but both Stiller and Duncan remain.
Police say Stiller, Duncan, and Jawaan Williams went into Village Inn Pizza on Statesville Boulevard the night of Aug. 31.
Three masked men walked into the restaurant through the back door. The men ordered employees on the floor. The would-be robbers demanded employees open the safe. When employees couldn’t open the safe, the men tried to pry it open. Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said Williams pistol whipped one employee.
Police said this is the final arrest.
