Woman dies of gunshot wound, police investigating

SALISBURY — Salisbury police are investigating a homicide after a woman died from a gunshot wound.

According to a press release, at 1:12 a.m. Saturday police were called to 212 E. 11th St. to assist with an assault. The victim, April Cora-Lucille Hall, 38, who was living in Spencer but in the process of moving back to 11th Street, was found outside the residence. She had been shot.

Hall was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, and then transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. According to police, she died Saturday evening as a result of her injury. Police did not release further details.
