SALISBURY — Police say a man armed with a gun walked into the Circle K convenience store and made the clerk put money into a bag. The clerk did as he instructed and was not hurt.
The robbery occurred at 12:35 a.m. at the store, located at 1015 E. Innes St., just off the Interstate 85 on ramp. The woman was stocking merchandise at the back of the store when the door chimed, indicating a customer had just walked through the door.
The woman went to the front of the store and the man pointed a gun at her. He told her to put the money in his bag. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a red bandana over his face.
He was about 6 feet tall. The woman said his hands were not covered and she believed the man was white. Police said the woman told them the suspect ran west on East Innes Street.
