SALISBURY — A man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the leg Monday night.

The man called 911 from Burger King on East Innes Street around 8:30 p.m. He told authorities who responded that he’d gone to a house to pick someone up, but another man got in the car and pulled a gun. The two struggled, and the armed man shot the victim in the leg, several inches above the knee.

Police are searching for the gunman, described as a black male wearing a blue or black hoodie.
