SALISBURY – Rufty’s Garden Shop, at 1335 W. Innes St., will be giving back to a local nonprofit organization on Dec. 10.

From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the shop will give 10 percent of every purchase to Meals on Wheels of Rowan.

There will be fresh Christmas trees, garlands, wreaths, handmade bows, festive ornaments, holiday ribbon, poinsettias, paper whites, homemade candy, gifts and more available for purchase.

Santa Claus will also be at the shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This is the first year Rufty’s Garden Shop is holding the event. Charlie Smith, owner, said Meals on Wheels approached him about doing it and he thought it was a great idea.

“I was glad to do it,” he said.

He said though giving 10 percent of every purchase to Meals on Wheels may not seem like a lot, hopefully giving back to a good cause will encourage customers to spend a little bit more.

“It will be good for everybody,” he said.
