Police: Man charged with possession of crack, powder cocaine

SALISBURY — Police charged a Salisbury man with cocaine possession after a vehicle stop and a search of his West Horah Street home. Investigators also found a weapon and cash at the home.
Darrell Rapheal Phillips, 30, of the 800 block of West Horah Street, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance Schedule II; felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for a controlled substance; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Thursday afternoon vehicle stop came during the course of an investigation. Police said they seized baggies containing 3.8 grams of crack cocaine, or 18 rocks, as well as $150 in cash. Police obtained a search warrant for his home and found 4 grams of powder cocaine and a gun. The State Bureau of Investigation and Department of Homeland Security assisted in the investigation.
Phillips was issued a $7,500 secured bond and has been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
