Police investigating bicycle shooting incident

SALISBURY — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting of a different sort.
On Wednesday night, a man riding a bicycle fired several shots at a passing car, police said.
According to a report, a Salisbury Police Department officer was flagged down on West Innes Street about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. A man told police he had been driving down South Caldwell Street, near Salisbury High School, when a young man on a bicycle fired a few shots at his vehicle.
When police questioned the man, he told them he knew the cyclist and had seen him while driving. He stopped, rolled down his window and yelled something, and the cyclist turned around and fired at him, the driver told police. The driver’s girlfriend was in the car with him at the time.
The shooter was described as a young black man with short dreadlocks that had highlighted tips. H was riding a green and white bicycle.
