A Mooresville man has been charged with sex offenses with a child in Iredell County.

Andrew Urena, 34, of Tigris Court, Mooresville, was charged with one count of sexual offense with a child and 12 counts of indecent liberties with a child.

On March 1, a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office about a child being assaulted. The child was interviewed at Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center.

Several witnesses were identified and interviewed. The incidents took place between Feb. 8, 2016, and March 1, 2017, authorities said.

Urena is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.
