KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Police Department reported an officer-involved shooting early Friday evening.

According to Police Chief Woody Chavis, the shooting happened at In Town Suites, 3200 Cloverleaf Parkway.

The person shot was taken to CMC Northeast. No officers were hurt.

The SBI is investigating the shooting. The name of the officer and the identity of the suspect have not been released.
