The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for a man and an SUV seen in the area of Shiloh Road in Statesville about the time that Hugh Lee Moose was murdered in January.

Moose was murdered in his home at 577 Shiloh Road on Jan. 10.

Witnesses reported seeing a white man wearing Carhartt-style bib overalls, a toboggan and a backpack just before the murder was reported.

During the investigation, a witness told deputies that he saw a full-size SUV, possibly a Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition or similar size vehicle, parked off the side of the road at Third Creek Bridge on Shiloh Road about 4:30 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office is trying to find the vehicle and the person in the vehicle.

Deputies ask anyone who was on Shiloh Road on Jan. 10 and has information about the SUV to call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office homicide line at 704-928-9804.
