SALISBURY — Authorities say a local woman pushed a 73-year-old man to the ground after he caused a vehicle crash at Morlan Park Road and South Jake Alexander Boulevard.
The Salisbury Police Department charged Christina Renee Floyd, 35, of the 100 block of Ashley Road, with misdemeanor simple assault. She gave a written promise to appear in court.
Officials said Floyd was the passenger in a vehicle driven by a friend, Shari Page, on Tuesday when the vehicle collided with one driven by Bobby Starnes.
According to police, Starnes ran a stop sign at the intersection.
Police were called to the scene for a verbal disturbance. Officials said at some point, Floyd pushed Starnes to the ground and he hit his head.
He was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for treatment.
