SALISBURY — What takes 40 days, covers 2,984 miles and goes through three flat tires?

That would be Rowan County cyclist David Freeze’s latest summer journey — and you can hear all about it Wednesday evening.

The Salisbury Post is sponsoring a reception for Freeze from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Stanback Auditorium of Rowan Public Library, 201 W. Fisher St.

This summer’s trip took Freeze from Anacortes, Washington, to Green Bay, Wisconsin, with a lot of steep hills and new friends along the way. Each night he sent a report of the day’s adventures to the Salisbury Post for publication.

Freeze will give a presentation about his trip at the beginning of the reception and then meet with people one-on-one. Light refreshments will be served.
